Awoke to radio reports of snow causing problems over most of England. No such troubles on Jura where it was bright and dry first thing.

Unpacked my studio kit. Two useful tips for anybody planning to work away from home: put cables in carrier bags and tape them to the equipment they belong to - it makes unpacking much simpler at the other end. And secondly, you can never be sure how many plug sockets there will be so take an extension lead with multiple power points. I’m running everything off one socket.

After a bit of work and The Archers Omnibus we walked to the beach.

While searching for sticks on the high tide line you can imagine our surprise when we found an Art Nouveau ashtray set in an intricately carved stand.

On closer inspection, we discovered it was just a bit of seaweed that had attached itself to a clam shell. We’ll be on the lookout for more of this ‘beach art’ though.

The rest of the day was spent drawing black and white line artwork our Chinese publishers.

Sausages for supper. Cooked an extra one for Toby who, unusually, spent the evening out of his bed and stretched full length on the carpet. Something to do with digesting a greasy sausage, I think.
